Canadian Light Source Massive Virtual Tour
140,000 square foot tour with over 1,300 scans!
Recently, we had the opportunity to create a massive 3D virtual tour for the Canadian Light Source. The facility is massive, covering over 140,000 square feet, and our team had the task of capturing every inch of it in a high-quality 3D virtual tour.
We used our Matterport Pro 2 camera to capture the Light Source, which allowed us to quickly and accurately capture detailed 3D images of the entire facility. The tour consisted of over 1,300 scans and took our team four full days of scanning to complete. 151 data points were added into the tour, adding detail and explanation to the entire tour.
The tour is now live and open to the public, and it's an impressive sight to behold. The virtual tour includes detailed annotations and information about the different areas of the facility, including the different experimental stations and research labs. This tour will be useful for researchers, students, and anyone who wants to know more about the cutting-edge research that takes place at CLS.
Overall, creating this massive 3D virtual tour for the Canadian Light Source was a challenging but extremely rewarding project. We are proud of the end result and are happy to have been able to provide an immersive and informative experience for people interested in the work that takes place at the Canadian Light Source.
